ESET, spol. s r. o., having its registered office at Einsteinova 24, 851 01 Bratislava, Slovak Republic, registered in the Commercial Register administered by Bratislava I District Court, Section Sro, Entry No 3586/B, Business Registration Number: 31 333 535 as a Data Controller (“ESET” or “We”) would like to be transparent when it comes to processing of personal data and privacy of our customers, website visitors, and every individual (“You”) whose personal data and information are subject to processing under the terms of REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR). This Privacy Policy applies to the use of the ESET World Application, the related services, websites and events operated or organized by ESET.

Our Services are intended for adults only. If You are less than eighteen (18) years old, You may only create and use the Account or the related Services if your parent or other legal guardian is involved.

The Services as defined in the Terms of Use and this website under the control of ESET are governed by this Privacy Policy. Generally, You may use our websites for information purposes without giving personal information and informing ESET who you are. The exclusive content may only be limited to registered visitors.

Processing of Data Collected Through the Website

When you register via our website, we process the personal data you provide (such as name, email, job title, company, and country) for the purposes of event registration, organization, related communication, and limited post-event follow-up. The legal basis is contractual necessity (to provide access to the Event and related services) and, where applicable, consent (e.g., for marketing communications). Data are retained for no longer than six (6) months after the Event, unless longer retention is required by law or based on your consent.

When you register for the ESET World (“Event”), we need to collect and process personal data included in the registration form for the purposes of registration, organization of the Event and operation of this web site as follows.

Personal data included in the registration form, such as name and surname, email, job title, company, country that may only be used for the planning of the Event and its parts, distribution of materials regarding the Event as well as delivery of limited number of reminders and notifications concerning the schedule of Event and new content publication. If the Event is not organized as the virtual one only, additional information such as flight details, check-in/out dates and times and accommodation preferences may be required in order to provide assistance with travel and accommodation arrangements. The retention period shall not exceed 6 months after end of the Event.

Viewing Statistics may only be used internally for the purpose of the improvement of the website, content and user experience in general. Viewing statistics may include information concerning video streams.

To make our website and Services work properly, We may store some cookies to your web browser, either when You visit our website, when You log into your Account or when You use a certain Service. We do not share your data with third parties. However, ESET is a company that operates globally through affiliated companies or partners as part of our sales, service and support network. Licensing, billing and technical support information processed by ESET may be transferred to and from affiliates or partners for the purpose of fulfilling the EULA, such as providing services or support.

ESET prefers to process its data in the European Union (EU). However, depending on your location (use of our products and/or services outside the EU) and/or the service you choose, it may be necessary to transfer your data to a country outside the EU. For example, we use third-party services in connection with cloud computing. In these cases, we carefully select our service providers and ensure an appropriate level of data protection through contractual as well as technical and organizational measures. As a rule, we agree on the EU standard contractual clauses, if necessary, with supplementary contractual regulations.

For some countries outside the EU, such as the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the EU has already determined a comparable level of data protection. Due to the comparable level of data protection, the transfer of data to these countries does not require any special authorization or agreement.

We rely on third-party services related to cloud computing provided by Microsoft as a cloud service provider.
